The first Cottonmouth song I ever heard was South Gastonia Blues ……
No, not the version from Rusty Monte Carlo but one from a homemade 4-song EP whose [graphics actually came from a typewriter]. I can still remember the 4 songs: South Gastonia Blues [original], Whiskey Rock-And-Roller [Skynyrd], Roadhouse Blues [Doors], and A Country Boy Can Survive [Hank Jr.]

CottonMouth is a great band. They’re a very hard working bunch of guys with a lot of style and a good grip on what they do. They know what they want and how to make it happen. On top of that, they’re easy to work with and a lot of fun to be around.

Cottonmouth draws heavily from the music that has influenced the members; Skynyrd, Hank, Jr., Bad Company. It is down and dirty stuff and it fills the dance floor. It is actually more a kind of "folk" music in that the "folk” probably find a lot more meaning and feeling in a good take on "Give Me Two Steps"; or a song like "Redneck", than they would with what is commonly thought of as folk now. Rock and roll will never die as long as bands like Cottonmouth are playing.
